Lenten Mission Offering: Pigs On A Mission

Giving alms (money) to the poor and people in need is an ancient tradition during the season of Lent. Browns Point made it a tradition to raise money for a particular group in need. This year's Lenten mission offering will benefit Riverton Park United Methodist Church in Tukwila, WA. Riverton Park UMC is serving over 400 asylum seekers (people who legally come to the United States). They provide a clothing bank, food pantry and space for people to sleep in tents.

To participate please take home a ceramic pig from church. You can find them on a table in the foyer. Feel free to decorate the pig in any way you see fit. Then during the forty days of Lent please put coins, cash or check into your pig. If you want to participate but don't have a pig please feel free to collect your alms the best way you see fit. Please return the pigs and your donation on Palm Sunday March 24th or Easter Sunday March 31st.
